Mass Bay Guides was started in 1999 by Massachusetts charter boat captain Greg Sears. The company was initially setup as fishing guide service and has now grown to a fleet of five boats located in Scituate, MA. The Mass Bay Guides boats are all individually and private owned vessels that have joined up to create one of the best offshore charter companies in the Northeast.
Captain Greg has over 40 years of experience fishing the offshore and inshore waters of Mass Bay and Stellwagen Bank. He grew up working the sterns of local lobster boats, served 6 years in the United States Coast Guard, and has captained and mated on some of the top charter boats throughout New England. Captain Greg shares and has developed Mass Bay Guides with his two sons Bryan and Taylor.
Both of the “Sears Boys” have spent their entire lives fishing in Massachusetts waters for anything from stripers to bluefin tuna. Bryan and Taylor each graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy and are both accomplished USCG licensed captains.
Mass Bay Guides and the Sears family also put on a fantastic seminar series every off-season that focuses on local fish species and fishing tactics used by the MBG Team.
